Tim Stevenson

Choreographer/Perfomer/Music Artist www.oncuela.com

One of today’s most innovative and sought after choreographers in Southern California. As the Hip Hop choreographer for San Clemente High School Dance Team, Tim has lead them to four national championships. In choreography he has worked with some of the industry’s greatest performers like Jennifer Lopez, Jo Dee Messina, Chris Rock, Ty Herndon, Destiny’s Child, Stacie Oricco and more. He also has set dance routines on the LA Clipper Girls, Portland Trailblazer Girls, Sacramento Kings Girls and Memphis Grizzlies.

Tim comes from an extensive background in all styles of dance and has performed on stages, concerts, television award shows, and music videos with Jennifer Lopez, Boys II Men, Usher, Brandy, TLC, Jennifer Love Hewitt and many more. He currently is the owner/director of On Cue LA Dance Convention (www.oncuela.com). Tim has taught all over the nation and is currently an instructor at Cal State University Long Beach, Orange County High School of the Arts, Defore Dance Center and more. Outside of all his projects, Tim finds the time to produce an album under the artists name MO’AT.

Kari Jensen

Choreographer www.kariography.com

International dance teacher and choreographer, is an accomplished artist trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, musical theater and competitive aerobics. As a faculty member of the Chapman University, Mt San Antonio College, Santa Ana College and Orange Coast College dance departments, she specializes in jazz and hip hop technique. Dozens of Kari’s students have gone on to perform professionally in music videos, commercials and stage work. In addition to her weekly classes, Kari regularly leads workshops for high schools and colleges across Southern California, such as Orange County High School of the Arts, Citrus College, Santa Ana High School and the 2008 American College Dance Festival in Irvine, CA. For nearly a decade Kari owned and directed Pulse Dance Troupe, in Orange County, CA, a professional performance company comprised of up-and-coming hip hop dancers focused on artistic growth and positive expression. During this time, Kari also performed and choreographed for Culture Shock Dance Troupe, Inc./Los Angeles and the Madonna Grimes Dance Co.

Kari's choreography has been showcased in a variety of prestigious commercial and theatrical arenas, including Carnival: A Choreographer’s Ball, the 2000 National Democratic Convention, IBM Corporate Events and industrial events for Nike and Reebok. She has choreographed original pieces for the Los Angeles Laker Girls, the Clippers Spirit Team and dozens of competitive dance teams across the country. Kari's resume is world-wide, with credits in Italy, where her performance and choreography took first place in the Dance Grandprix Italia, all the way to Taipei, Taiwan and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as an Artist in Residence for the Cultural Convention of Dance.

Christina Nguyen

Polynesian Performer, Dancer & Choreographer www.TBA.com

Christina has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior from University of California, Irvine. She Interned at The UCI Disability Center where she spent her time researching stigma surrounding disabled students and helps with training students to aid disabled students in class. As the Dance Coordinator for UCI’s Hawaii club, Christina led groups of Tahitian dance performances for over 300 people.

Her passion for children exudes through her work as a mentor coordinator involved with matching youth in therapeutic treatments with qualified mentors; Mentoring Vietnamese American youth; as a Math & English Tutor providing academic support; and as a recreational leader for after school programs.
She has been teaching & performing professionally as a Tahitian dancer for 7 years. She’s been with several group and solo dance competitions in Southern and Northern California, as well as Hawaii. Christina has developed and choreographed developmentally appropriate Polynesian lesson plans for children Kinder – 8th Grade and facilitated in several workshops for professional dancers.

Candice Sainz

Performer, Dancer & Choreographer (Middle Eastern/ Belly Dance)

Candice Sainz is a professional in the field of health services and performs across Southern California as a Middle Eastern Belly Dancer and East Indian Bollywood. Her performance and dance education includes genres such as Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin and more with an expertise in Middle Eastern Dance. Candice works with her heart on her sleeve as she inspires people around the Orange County community providing Nutrition and Physical Activity Education and Trainings. She also loves to work with children and provides motivating, fun and exciting dance lessons for Active Learning. As a part-time dance teacher and expert in the field of Middle Eastern dance, Ms. Sainz has been working with Active Learning, for the past few years. She has proven to be highly talented, resourceful, dependable and of good character.

She has experience working with children ranging in age from 6 years up to 18 years and has always shown respectful dance moves that are not offensive and yet pleasing to young people. She has also worked with adult dance teachers in several workshops lead by Active Learning to educate dancers on cultural styles. Ms. Sainz taught a full staff of dance educators several tasteful movements of Middle Eastern and East Indian dance. Her instruction was executed so well, the staff has requested her back for our next workshop in August.
