Hiba Shublak is the CEO and Founder of Active Learning. With over 22 years of experience as a dancer, performer and teacher, Miss Shublak also develops curriculum and acts as a creator of a multitude of fitness, dance and performing arts programs in California. Her accomplishments include developing innovative resources, publications and programs to maximize health and fitness in communities and for individuals.
She is an International trainer for teachers, fitness and dance instructors in a multitude of dance genres and cultural styles; and has a strong dedication to helping people understand the joy and importance of fitness and movement as a part of their life.
Hiba travels across the world with Active Learning professionals and performs master classes and assemblies for children of all ages.
One of Active Learning’s most popular program's is the hip hop dance segment. The California Association for Health, PE, Recreation & Dance (CAHPERD) & the Orange County Chapter, Department of Education awarded the first-ever "Innovator of the Year" to Shublak for creating clean, fun hip hop programs for teens across California. Hiba travels across the state to teach Master classes at elementary, middle and high schools.
Hiba also teaches workshops and seminars nationwide independently of or as a supplement to Active Learning, to enhance the critical skills of teachers and parents in developing and maintaining good fitness and eating habits.
fell in love with dancing at the age of five and has trained at The Santa Clarita Ballet Academy, New World Dance in Canyon Country, Dynamics Dance Theory and Emerge Dance. She has performed professionally at many theaters including The Japan American, The McCallum Arts, and The Copley Theater. In addition, she has been featured in numerous events such as Dancer’s Responding to AIDS, The Hysterica Benefit showcase, Amerisource Burgen, The Long Beach Museum of Art, Dance under the Stars (St. Jude Medical), and The Choreographer’s Carnival. Her impressive background continues to build as she currently attends California State University, Long Beach pursuing a BA degree in dance with a focus on choreography and education. Her passion exudes with every lesson she teaches and she always goes above and beyond of what is expected. In 2008 she received the Best Choreography Award for the Fire and Ice Competition. Miss Bussjager has been with Active Learning for more than 3 years and has received several promotions within the company and recently became a Master Teacher and Assistant Manager. Allie Bussjager is instrumental in the growth and development of Active Learning and truly represents the enthusiasm and passion for educating young children and their caregivers. The children, teachers and program leaders truly adore her and we are proud to have her on board!
has been studying Persian and Belly Dancing since she was four. Ever since then she has been dedicated to learning about various styles of dance. She has volunteered as a dance and Cheer coach for local Boys and Girls Clubs during high school and has been with Active Learning for more than 5 years. As a devoted engineering student at UC Irvine, Miss Aria dedicates her free time to teaching young children the joy of exercise, dance and movement. While on the Active Learning dance team she performed at the halftime for the UCI Basketball game, at several Orange County elementary and middle school assemblies, secondary school dances, and private parties across CA. Her passion exudes as a teacher and she leaves an impression with all her classes. Years pass by and students still request to have her come back!
has been dancing since the age of five with concentrations in ballet, modern, jazz and lyrical. She has had the opportunity to perform over hundred times including annual Nutcrackers, showcases, Superbowl pre-game and half time shows in 2003, Del Mar fair, underground hip-hop music video, and much more. She attended California State University, Long Beach and in 2008 achieved her BA in dance where she worked with choreographers Cyrus Parker-Jeannette and Andrew Vaca. Miss Moore has taught and choreographed for ten years at various schools and is an integral part of Active Learning. With only one year as a teacher with the company, she has been promoted due to her professionalism and enthusiasm of teaching. She is eager and passionate for children of all ages and students adore her. We are proud to have her on our team as a master teacher, choreographer and educator with Active Learning!
is an accomplished and trained actor, performer and dancer in ballet, jazz, modern, popping and locking and currently learning new break dancing styles. His ability to connect with people and capture audiences is unbelievable. Children of all ages run to him with curious minds to learn the latest in dance trends and respect his teaching skills because he keeps it fun for everyone. He is a natural performer with a magnetic personality and can imitate noted dancers such as Michael Jackson. Mr. Ardila has been with Active Learning for over 6 years and he is a joy to have. We are proud to represent him whether he is performing; teaching or simply educating other staff members on the newest craves in dance.

Mrs. Atwell traveled across studying break dance, hip hop and modern styles in New York and across the nation. She is an amazing choreographer and teacher and is an integral part of Active Learning. Her passion exudes through her instruction and her ability to capture girls and boys attention is one of a kind. She has an unbelievable ability to touch peoples hearts with her words. She knows how to treat each child as an individual and teach him to connect with art of movement and music. She is eager and passionate for children of all ages and students adore her. We are proud to have her on our team as a master teacher, choreographer and educator with Active Learning!
Chelsea Smith currently attends California State University, Long Beach with a major in education and minor in dance. She began dancing at Caravan Dance studio in 1993 and found a passion for teaching dance. She has worked with children ages 3 years to 14 years as an assistant teacher and dancer. As a performer, Miss Smith worked with the Antelope Valley Ballet in productions such as the Nutcracker and Swan Lake and has also trained at New World Dance Academy in Canyon Country, where she was a part of the New World Dance Contemporary Ballet Company. Her extensive background includes being captain of cheerleading and coaching children from grades K-8th with Active Learning. Her roles as a teacher with Active Learning include choreographing large shows for entire elementary and middle schools, teaching themed lessons such as cultural dance and simply bring cheer and joy to the children through creative movement and dance.
Roxanne Onofre is an experienced dance instructor, performer and choreographer with an adhering passion for nurturing students so that they can grow as creative artists. She acquired her BA from California State University, Long Beach in dance and has trained in ballet, modern, Folklorico, jazz, Indian, Persian, Latin, Afro-Cuban and West African styles. She has danced in various companies such as Pacifico Dance Company, Grandeza Mexicana, Y Arriba Y Arriba, and Namah; and has danced on shows such as “Despierta America”, “Sabado Gigante”, and “Univision”. After a while of performing in Los Angeles., she began doing a year tour with a circus in Mexico called “Circo Atayde Hermanos”. Miss Onofre is dedicated to enriching young minds with traditional Mexican Folklorico styles and she also performs world wide. As a master teacher with Active Learning, she has proven to go above and beyond by bringing costumes, cultural styles and music to children in elementary and middle schools. Students connect with her and school administrators admire her techniques and ability to capture the kid’s interests of dance education.
Martha Del Bosque
is currently studying dance at Orange Coast College, and works hard as a Teaching Assistant with Active Learning. She has a natural gift of working with children of different age groups. Here background in dance education includes Salsa, Meringue, Cumbia and other Latin styles as well as hip hop, jazz and ballet. Her passion for dance and working with children exudes through her devotion and commitment to the company.
Jan, Tristian and Dion have been stepping together since 2006. All brothers in the same organization, there passion and skill for the art has fatefully brought them together. In the time they have stepped together, TDB Step has performed together in over 40 events with crowds ranging to 400 to 8,000. Each Step master has an arsenal of step with an individual trademarked brand style. They have contributed immensely to the style and vision of TDB Step and now are looking forward to teaching a younger generation that can apply the lessons taught to individuals to carry on for a lifetime. They have been devoted to Active Learning since April of 2010 and have a growing future with the company!
